Overview of the Laboratory
The primary research subjects of our laboratory are biological tissues such as blood vessels, tendons and ligaments, bones, and skin,
as well as the cells that compose these tissues (e.g., vascular smooth muscle cells, endothelial cells, fibroblasts and osteoblasts).
Our three main objectives are:
1. To precisely measure the mechanical properties of these tissues and cells.
2. To understand how stress and strain affect them.
3. To apply this knowledge and technology for the benefit of people.
Our laboratory's research themes are broadly classified into five categories based on the subjects.
